RUNAWAY HORSE.on Wednesday afternoon, as a waiter at the Royal Victoria Hotel, named Arthur Thomas, was mounting a saddle horse on the Front Line, the animal bolted and ran into a luggage porter's truck, drawn by Thomas Dunn, near the bottom Warrior-square.  Mr. Dunn, who lives at 43, Gensing-road, St. Leonards, was thrown down, and had his left hand injured.  He was taken to the Hastings Hospital, where it was found necessary to amputate his hand. Yesterday (Friday) he was reported to be doing well.

AN IMAGINARY FEUD. Thomas Dunn was charged with using abusive language to Theodore Russell on August 19th.—Theodore Russell, a jobmaster, said that prisoner used bad language and caused a crowd to assemble.  That sort of thing had been going on for over two years. —P.C. Cramp said that the crowd numbered 30 or AO.— Defendant said that nearly three years ago his arm was amputated in consequence of an accident caused by one of complainant's horses.  Ever since complainant had sneered and laughed at him when they met. and made his blood boil." He said that on August 19th complainant laughed at him first.—This Russell denied, and also denied continually laughing at him.—Defendant was bound over in £5 to keep the peace.

MR. T. J. DUNN. The death occurred at his residence, 57, Gensing-road. St. Leonards on the 12th inst. of Mr. James Dunn, at the age 67 years.

Deceased was a well-known figure at the west end of the town, having formerly been a luggage porter.  Some time ago he met with a serious accident by being knocked down by a pair of runaway horses. His right arm had to be amputated, and he was unable to follow his occupation, and had since gained a livelihood by playing an organ.

The funeral took place  at Borough Cemetery. The Rev. Sholto J. H. Newman, viear of  Emmanuel officiated.   Amongst those present and sent who floral tributes were:—Mrs.  Dunn (widow), Messrs. John Dunn, T.J. Dunn. Albert Dunn, and F. Dunn (sons) Mrs. Clements. Mrs. Condren. Mrs. Bingham. Mrs. Dixon, Clara Dunn (daughters). Mrs T J. Dunn (daughter-in-law). ....
