George Gregory Gardiner educated at Bath Grammar School; Hyde Abbey School, Winchester; Exeter College, Oxford.1827: BA. 1830: MA.
He married firstly, in 1831 Catherine McClintock, daughter of John McClintock by his first marriage to Jane Bunbury. Kate Gardinerdied in Bath, June 5th 1834, aged 35. According to her uncle Henry McClintock's diary, she had never recovered from a miscarriage. She was buried atSt. Michael's Churchin Bath. Their three children were subsequently buried alongside her. After leaving Bath, Mr Gardiner became the English Chaplain at Bonn from where he went to the English Protestant Chapel in Avenue Marboeuf, Paris where he remained until the eve of the siege of Paris; later becoming rector of St Mary’s Church at St Leonards on Sea.
In St Leonards he lived at 4 West Hill Terrace, 31 Marina, .2 Magdalen Road
